In 2007, Wenling's gross production value reached 41.09 billion yuan. The total revenue was 4.19 billion yuan, of which the local revenue was 2.04 billion yuan. The total investment on the fixed assets was 15.31 billion yuan. The per-capita disposable income of urban residents was 22,326 yuan and per-capital net in come of farmers' was 9,367 yuan.

The city's innovation ability, its comprehensive social and economic development index and the county-level economic basic competitiveness take the 6th , 34th and 41st position among the Top Hundred Counties/Cities of thecountry.

City Construction    

The urban construction of Wenling takes new appearance with every passing day and month. The development conception of new urbanization has been set up. Guided by the principle of building an open-oriented city group and pushing forward clustered urban and rural integration, we have promoted the balanced development of the city, industries and ecology, implemented the strategy of "going eastward, expanding northward and moving westward" and formed the urbanization pattern of "golden triangle" – Taiping, Zeguo and Daxi. Wenling has become the exemplary national ecological area and provincial garden city.

Traffic

Wenling's traffic extends in all directions.Yong-tai-wen Expressway goes through the territory of Wenling. Yong-tai-wen Railroad will be finished in 2008. The Shi-song Grade One Highway and the Coastal Expressway are under construction...It is 25 km from Taizhou Airport and 40 km from Haimen Port. There are two ports of Category II. In the planned Longmengang Port, there are six 50,000-ton ports. Upon completion, the annual throughput will reach 150 million tons.

Location Advantages

There is plenty power supplyin Wenling. In 2007, the social consumption is 3.098 billion KWH, of which, the industrial consumption is 2.192 billion KWH. With one 500-KV, two 220KV, eleven 110KV and seventeen 35KV transformer substations, a complete power grid has been formed.

The communications of Wenling develop fast and steadily. The city has carried out the postal work at the total value of 2.272 billion yuan. There are 497,300 fixed telephones users, 1.2 million mobile telephone users and 119,516 internet users, including 102,418 users of broadband internet."automobiles, ships, shoes, garments and pumps, plastic and construction materials, fishery, shrimps and cookware". Nearly ten industrial products takes the first position in domestic market share.
